The Heritage Foundation? … Yeh one of the most powerful political organizations you never heard of. It is a conservative right wing free market fundamentalist think tank outta D.C. … which means it keeps power on message in legislating in favor of predator capitalism, that is capitalism free from state intervention and government regulation, free to do whatever the f**k it likes with no repercussions.

And guess what? It is a charitable tax-free organization funded by billionaires and corporations to advance agendas beneficial to those donors. For example, it is a climate change denial organization and it is funded not least by dark money from Exxon Mobil and the Koch Brothers

It was founded in 1973 emerging out of the new business activist movement inspired by the Powell Memorandum and not least, fears that President Nixon was too becoming too liberal. It has a goal of influencing government policy decisions, based on all of the above, by cultivating special access to Republican administrations since Reagan and pushing Neoliberal Democratic presidents to the right.

For example, by successfully championing the “Health Insurance Mandate” as part of Obamacare, it ensured that employers or individuals are mandated to take out private health insurance, over anything resembling moves towards a public option. It was an early supporter of Trump in 2016, before he got elected, and has been influential in recommending his cabinet picks …. and we all know how disastrous they are. And, during the 2020 Democratic primaries it has been obsessed with red scare tactics, circulating ads on Facebook for inanely titled downloadable pamphlets like the idiot-researched, “9 Ways Socialism Will Morally Bankrupt America.” …
