Sometimes we are hit by a future memory from a past life, and it all combines in a spectacular moment in the present. The parallel tracks, rigid, never meeting, imperceptibly become fluid. The molecules which make up the alloys have become agitated in some way, the atoms disturbed, softening and allowing some give. One false move and matter solidifies again as if the flaccidity never was. But if the dream persists and hitches its wagon to the imagination, then the tracks defy mathematics and bow inwards,
Like two strangers seated together in a crowd. Will-be lovers, …but before they even know it. Each reaches out across the sub-conscious, with the most miniscule relaxation of a thigh muscle. And then a spark flies across the gap … and like Hamburg all over again, a neuron sends out the message that jumps the synapse … and the energy released by the Big Bang is recreated in minute detail as two lives connect.
